Who are MoJo Construction?

MoJo Construction is a not-for-profit social business and has been operating in The Gambia since 2012.

MoJo is operated and managed 100% by Gambian staff.

Led by General Manager - Morro Fatty from Tabokoto Village with Chief Architect, Kawsu Ceesay we have built schools, classrooms and worked with Communities on youth initiatives.

We have a core staff team of around 10 young people, providing on-the-job training and employment at a living wage - higher than the average street wage;  MoJo is supported by our sister charity in the UK - New Meaning (who train and employ disadvantaged young people in the Centre of England).

MoJo purchased 10 acres / 4 hectares of land at Jambur and is working with the Village Development Committee to build 6 community operated businesses and to build up to 56 homes / compounds.
All profits are recycled into training, work experience, jobs and bursaries for local Gambian people.

For every one of our employees, two more will be funded to attend college and supported to earn their own living.

MoJo has plans ready for Jambur and will operate low interest finance mortages in the stable UK banking system for any customers who may wish to buy off plan.  MoJo homes will be priced lower than other new build estates in The Gambia, but with high quality and support / training to our team from our experienced UK professional tradesmen.

MoJo is committed to reinvesting any profit from the entire scheme into a second community enterprise village built by Gambians for Gambians.   Building Communities.  Building Lives.
